On this appeal, the principal issue dividing this court concerns the sufficiency of the evidence of the defendant's guilt
of robbery in the first degree. Viewing the evidence, as we must, in a light most favorable to the prosecution, giving it
the benefit of every reasonable inference to be drawn therefrom (see, Jackson v Virginia, 443 U.S. 307, 319; People v Lewis, 64 N.Y.2d 1111, 1112; People v Malizia, 62 N.Y.2d 755, 757, cert denied U.S. , 105 S Ct 327; People v Contes, 60 N.Y.2d 620, 621), we conclude that the defendant's guilt was proven beyond a reasonable doubt. There being no other issues warranting
reversal, we affirm the conviction.
